We’re over the moon for scooping two accolades at The Grocer’s New Product Awards 2021!
Our Vegan Minced Steak & Onion pie came out top in the hotly-contested Vegan/Plant-Based Ready Meals & Centres category, whilst our Chicken & Bacon pie was highly commended within Ready Meals & Centres.
Despite only recently launching our first Vegan products, we’re already cementing our position as a market leader. Our Vegan Minced Steak & Onion and Vegan Chicken & Mushroom pies are already worth £3.2 million* in retail, just 12 months after launching. We’re continuing to innovate and have recently expanded our award-winning Vegan chilled portfolio with a brand-new Smoky Cheddar Flavour & Onion pie in partnership with Applewood® Vegan.
Developing tasty recipes that people want to tuck into is what Pukka is all about and we’re thrilled that The Grocer has recognised our efforts for the third year running – following our Brand of the Year achievement in 2020 and a New Product Award for our Veggie Cheese, Leek & Potato pie the year before.
We’re keeping up the momentum and we’ve recently been back on TV and VOD with our award-winning ‘The People’s Pie’ campaign, to remind everyone that Pukka and pies are part of the fabric of the nation.
And that’s not all. We will keep investing in our brand and bring the people of Britain what they want. That’s why this year, we launched our epic Savoury Pastry range including slices, sausage rolls and a pasty which can be enjoyed anywhere – hot or cold. Fulfilling unmet needs within the category, the line-up is built around punchy flavours which deliver the same great taste as the rest of our pie range – from the first bite to the last crumb.
All of this, and more, has cemented our position as the runaway number one Hot Pie brand in and out of home, with retail sales worth £48.4 million* (+11.7%), and we’re always thinking about
what’s next. We will continue to develop new products to bring excitement to supermarket shelves and are looking forward to an even bigger and brighter future with your continued support.
